Japan government worried about Corona, imposed emergency till August 31

Cases of corona infection are increasing in Japan these days, to prevent which the Japanese government has declared a state of emergency in some cities till August 31. Japan on Saturday declared a state of emergency in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa, Osaka and Okinawa prefectures until August 31.

Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga said that a state of emergency is being imposed in Tokyo, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa, Osaka and Okinawa prefectures and priority measures to prevent cases of corona infection in Hokkaido, Ishikawa, Kyoto, Hyogo and Fukuoka prefectures. It is being implemented till 31st August.

NHK World reported that the cases of corona are increasing in Japan these days. After the initial days of Corona, now the cases of Corona are increasing again in the country. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government confirmed 3,856 new cases of corona on 29 July, while the number of corona cases across the country was 10,699. The state of emergency in Tokyo and Okinawa was due to end on 22 August.

The Prime Minister’s Office of Japan tweeted that the Japanese government is also thinking of vaccinating people in the younger generation. The aim is to have 40 percent of the population receiving both doses of the vaccine by the last week of August. Vaccines can reduce severe symptoms by up to 70 percent.

Japan urges its citizens to refrain from traveling

Japan’s Prime Minister’s Office has tweeted urging its citizens to refrain from going out or traveling for non-essential reasons. Also asked to be as careful and restrained as possible regarding returning to their hometowns during summers and other travels. It has also been said in the tweet that the government will work to the best of its ability to prevent corona infection and vaccinate.
