Sources associated with the evacuation operation said that the people who will be brought back will include Indian citizens as well as Afghan Sikhs and Hindus. Sources also said that the Air Force aircraft carrying 180 people from Kabul is expected to reach New Delhi on Thursday morning itself.
800 people have come back under ‘Operation Devi Shakti’
India has so far brought back more than 800 people from Afghanistan under ‘Operation Devi Shakti’. These include Indian citizens as well as Afghan and Nepalese citizens.
The deadline to leave Afghanistan is August 31
Since the capture of Kabul by the Taliban, people of America and Western countries are trying to get out of here. The deadline for foreigners to leave Afghanistan is August 31, and a Taliban spokesman said in a Tuesday press conference that this “deadline will not be extended”.
